Your Influence Begins in the Circle you have Been Placed
In the midst of the noise. In the midst of the chaos. In the midst of all things new. In the midst of problem solving. In the midst of a pandemic, the influence we all have still remains.
One of my biggest beliefs is that your influence begins in the circle you have been placed. It doesn’t stop due to meetings. It doesn’t stop due to stress. It doesn’t stop due to a pandemic. In fact, it never stops. The circle you have been placed is just the beginning!
Stop and think about your circle. Think about the people you see every day in your workplace. Even if they are not the friend you hangout with when outside of work, your influence begins with them.
Stop and think about your circle. Think about those you sit across from the table in meeting after meeting. Your influence begins with them.
Stop and think about your circle. Think about those you see that you pass in the hall or that you run into when out and about. Your influence begins with them.
Stop and think about your circle. Think about those that you call friend, those that you talk to on a regular basis. Your influence begins with them.
Stop and think about your circle. If you are an educator, think about your students, your team you work with, your department. Your influence begins with them.
For many of us we have 5 more days. 40 more hours. 5 more sleeps.
When you think about it; that is a LOT of time to have influence.
Maybe rather than looking forward to getting through the week and just surviving, we should look forward to how will we use this week to have a positive influence on others. It begins right now in the circle you have been placed.
