You are who you are—gifted in areas, anointed with favor,  and appointed in the calling God has placed on your life.

Sometimes we write ourselves off because we look to someone we admire and think—“I could  never do that. I could never be like her.” Or, “I wish I had her ....”. Or, “Why didn’t I get the gift of ...” Or, “I wish I looked more like ...”

As women,  the comparison syndrome is real and can play a number on our self esteem.

Sometimes we get so tied up in who we wish we were, tied up in what we wish we could do and tied up in what we wished we looked like—-that we forget a foundational and essential truth.   That truth is that  we were created for a purpose.  That we were created  with our own gifts. That we were created to look just as we look, flaws and all. That we created for a purpose.

It is ok and appropriate to admire and respect someone. There are many in my world that I do!  Yet when your admiration and respect turns to questioning your own identity...that is something to notice now so that it doesn’t take root and impact who you really are.

So today, stand in the mirror and admire and respect the person staring back at you.

She IS a beauty!

She IS created to do great works!

She IS called for a purpose!

She HAS many gifts!

She IS fearfully and wonderfully made.

Let your light shine...and Shine Brightly!
